The Shrine is a place of prayer and worship that offers sacraments and liturgical activities, including the following:
• Holy Mass: Offered daily in the Redemptor Hominis Church
• Confession: This sacrament is available before all Masses.
• Veneration: A first-class blood relic of St. John Paul II is present in the Chapel.
• Hour of Mercy Prayer and Chaplet: 3:00 p.m. daily.
• Exhibits, and Sacred Art Tours

Additional sites in the area:
• The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (walking distance)
• The Franciscan Monastery (1 mile from Shrine)

The Saint John Paul II National Shrine is a place of worship, religious formation, and cultural renewal to feed the minds and souls of its visitors. It is a place of pilgrimage with a first-class relic of St. John Paul II’s blood available for veneration. Through liturgy and prayer, art, cultural events, and religious celebrations, pilgrims can enter into our patron’s deep love for God and for man. A major permanent exhibit highlights significant events in the life of Pope John Paul II and his momentous influence as the spiritual father of one billion Catholics and as a world leader. At the Saint John Paul II National Shrine, pilgrims will genuinely encounter Christ through the life, witness, and legacy of our extraordinary patron. Because of the richness of all the Shrine has to offer, and to provide pilgrims with as fruitful an experience as possible, we have developed several resources to supplement your visit.
